Project Aedes is an interactive walk-through experience, the first full-scale attraction created by TEA@SCAD, the student chapter of the Themed Entertainment Association at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
In Savannah, in a government faculty a crazed theorist believes there to be an alien. Guests enter a pre-show where they meet the theorist through a monitor. The pre-show is where this theorist has resided in the abandoned building. The group then enters an elevator that we made with pneumatics and a projection screen. The elevator brings the guests down to the basement of the government faculty.
The guest then enter a long hallway that proceeds into a lab. The back wall is a rear projected image of a cryogenics containment. The guest encounter the alien and flee back to the elevator where they are brought back up. The alien then appears on the elevator projection terrorizing the guest until the elevator squeezes the alien when it reaches the top of the building.
Summit is a themed entertainment installation within the SCAD Production Design department. This is an in progress collaboration within the department. The full experience is set to open in February 2018 and run for two weekends. This is an interactive walkthrough with puzzles that lead guests through a thrilling experience. The design is based around western mine. This project was a wonderful collobrotive project within the department. We accomplished practical effects, pepper's ghost effect, queued lighting and sound to create an adventurous walk through escape attraction
